To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Bauhaus designed Form 1382 by Dr. Hermann Gretsch, Arzberg produced 500 of the black teasets.
Each piece has a special anniversary backstamp and the teapot is numbered.
The gift-boxed set includes:
Teapot w/lid, numbered out of the edition of 500 (e.g. 100/500)

The Arzberg company, since 1887 has stood for the highest quality in materials and design. Known for their simple, no frills designs, so timeless as to always remain contemprary. Heinrich Schumann, originally from Angelroda (Thuringia), had a small pottery in Arzberg that had to close because it was in the way of the newly built railway. The railway was finished in November 1879 and connected Arzberg with the railway network.
In 1931, Arzberg Form 1382 set the benchmark for modern tableware. It’s now celebrating its 75th Anniversary and its design is unchanged. As with his contemporaries at the Bauhaus, Dr.Ing. Hermann Gretsch relied on form & function to guide his design. His quest was to design a soup tureen that could be emptied with a ladle.
