Horn Plenty
It is amazing to note that rail companies enjoy plenty of freedom when it comes to placement of train horn kits on the locomotives. The newest strategy of placement of horns is based on an opposite form of reasoning from placing it away from the operating cab. Train crews feel the placement of the horn atop it or next to it makes it too loud and thereby noisy. They therefore advocate for placement of train horn kits far towards the center of the train. This is also done to discourage vandalism or theft of such horns. However it compromises the effectiveness of the sound coming out of the horn.
